Whole-Home and Exterior

Meredith's elegant seaside home designs have been featured in the Sunday Homes section of the Providence Journal-Bulletin.  One of Meredith's exterior decorative installations was long shown on the home page of a well-known custom woodworking firm, and is still featured in its catalog.

For clients seeking to decorate their homes in various art media, Meredith can find just the right artist through her arts-community connections and experience.

Merrymakins was the arts & crafts and home furnishings boutique on Providence's East Side, created, owned and operated by Meredith (1980-1983). Here she sold soft decorative furnishings that she designed and sewed, and also showed jewelry, fashions, paintings and other objets d'art created by local artists, and items acquired on buying trips to New York, and created the store's acclaimed monthly window displays.

At Merrymakins and during her work with the Rhode Island State Council of the Arts (1980-81), Meredith applied her lifelong flair and interest in the arts, and cultivated lasting bonds within the Providence and RISD art communities. Many of these artists have contributed to the interior designs she later created in clients' homes, with their murals, paintings, sculpture and glasswork.  As a longstanding member of the Providence Art Club, she enjoys both social and working relationships with many of its members.
